We are proud to offer our guests exclusive access to some of the most productive and scenic fishing water in Michigan. With over 1,000 acres and over a mile and a half of river, our anglers can enjoy their own section of river. Unique to Boyne Outfitters, experience the private waters of the EK Preserve...
Long known as a best-kept secret, the shallow shoals of northern Lake Michigan provide harbor for bountiful amounts of baitfish, and with it, predatory gamefish. Smallmouth Bass, Northern Pike, Freshwater Drum, and even Common Carp... yes, Carp! These species are voracious predators, and offer wonderful opportunities on the fly. Smallmouth Bass are the primary focus, with trophy-class fish caught each year...but carp, more admirably known as "golden bonefish," offer an exciting game of cat & mouse due to their ultrasensitive and smooky nature...hook one up and the reel screamin', drag rippin' runs will make you want to come back for more. Combined with gorgeous scenery and crystal clear waters, relatively untouched by modern human development, this is Great Lakes flats fishing at its finest!
Director of Operations, Capt. Ethan Winchester, guides these trips in a Hog Island SW16 Skiff. Jump aboard for a memorable day of flats fishing our inland seas.

The inland lakes of northern Michigan are unrivaled. Although Torch Lake was rumored to be named the 3rd Best Lake in the world by National Geographic (Michigan's "little slice of the Caribbean"), and Lake Charlevoix was named 'America's Second Best Lake' according to USA Today, it's the world record fishing that has anglers interested. Northern Michigan's inland lakes have produced IGFA world-record Atlantic Salmon & Smallmouth Bass, and several state-record muskies.
The spring and summer months are spent chasing Smallmouth & Largemouth Bass. Whereas tactics change in the fall to accommodate Atlantic Salmon, Steelhead, Brown Trout and Muskellunge. These lakes offer a little bit of everything for the venturing fly angler.
Director of Operations, Capt. Ethan Winchester, will serve as your guide on these adventures.
