"I'd rather be known as a great fly fisherman..." ~ Everett Kircher, Founder of Boyne Resorts
The Maple River is a classic trout streams of northern Michigan. A cold, sandy bottomed river with a beautiful tannin stain, the Maple is a nice little northern Michigan trout stream tucked away in central Emmet County. Secluded and shaded by towering pines, hardwoods, and bluffs, this stretch is the perfect habitat for brook, brown and rainbow trout. The northern tributary to Burt Lake, this river also receives a small run of chrome lake-run rainbow trout every spring.
